Privacy Policy
What we collect, why we need it, and how to get rid of it. Written to match what the app actually does, not a template.

1. Who this covers
This policy covers naijalobby.com and everything under it. NaijaLobby is the controller of the personal data described here. Questions go to hello@naijalobby.com.
2. What we collect
You give us
- Account: email address and a password. The password is stored as a hash, never as readable text.
- Profile: username, display name, avatar, bio, your game and in game UID, country.
- Content: posts, comments, listings, photos you upload, and messages you send in world chat and direct messages.
We record
- Activity: what you post or list, who you follow, your likes and reactions, and when you were last online.
- Safety records: reports about your account, warnings and restrictions applied to it.
- Technical: ordinary server logs from our hosting and database providers, such as request times and error records, which include IP address.
We do not collect
- Your game passwords. NaijaLobby never asks for them and cannot use them.
- Card or bank details. Payments between members do not pass through NaijaLobby.
3. Why we use it
- To run your account and keep you signed in.
- To show your profile, posts and listings to other members.
- To deliver chat and direct messages.
- To review listings and sellers, and to enforce our terms.
- To keep the service working and fix faults.
- To send you account messages, such as a password reset. You control notification emails in settings.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your private messages to build advertising profiles.
4. Who processes it
NaijaLobby is built on a small number of services. Each only handles the part it needs to:
These providers may store data outside Nigeria, including in the European Union and the United States, as part of running their normal infrastructure.
We may also disclose data where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to deal with fraud, threats or a serious safety issue.
5. What other members can see
Your username, display name, avatar, bio, game, UID, country, posts, listings and follower counts are visible to others, and some of it to people who are not signed in. Your email address is never shown.
Your privacy settings control whether your followers and following lists are public and whether other members can message you. Direct messages are visible to the people in the conversation.
6. Cookies and local storage
We do not run advertising or analytics trackers. The site uses browser storage for a small number of things that make the app work: keeping you signed in, remembering your light or dark theme choice, and remembering locally which pages you have already seen content on. Clearing your browser storage signs you out.
7. Your choices
- See and correct: most of your data is visible in your profile and can be edited from edit profile.
- Control visibility: followers and following lists are controlled from privacy settings.
- Delete: you can close your account from delete account. This marks the account as deleted and removes it from the app.
- Ask: for anything else, including a copy of your data, email hello@naijalobby.com and we will respond within a reasonable period.
8. How long we keep it
Account data and content stay for as long as your account exists. After deletion, some records may be kept where we need them for safety, fraud prevention or legal obligations. Private messages are kept while the conversation exists so that both sides keep their history.
9. Children
NaijaLobby is not for anyone under 13. If we find an account belonging to someone under 13 it will be closed. If you believe a child is using NaijaLobby, tell us at hello@naijalobby.com.
10. Security
Access to the database is restricted by row level security rules, so a member cannot read private data that does not belong to them. Traffic is encrypted in transit. No system is perfect, so use a password you do not reuse anywhere else, and tell us straight away if you think your account was accessed by someone else.
11. Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes. Material changes will be announced in the app. Continuing to use NaijaLobby after a change means you accept the updated policy.
12. Contact
Privacy questions and requests: hello@naijalobby.com, or the contact page.
